Good morning, beloved of the Lord,
"Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down." Prov 26:20
O Lord, this morning we present ourselves to you. We ask that your will be fulfilled in us.
May our heart be submissive, unarmed, and ready to receive and obey your counsels.
How often, because we do not tame our language, we enter into foolish arguments, thus creating unnecessary dissension.
Therefore, we pray to you this morning and ask you to put a bridle in our mouths, so that it is under control and will not serve to cause discord, conflict, or disunity.
May we be peacemakers, not matches thrown into the flames, increasing the fire of strife.
Lord, engrave your words in our hearts, and teach us to apply them at the right moments. As your word says: "We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in it's mouth."
If we remember these verses when tempted to rumor, hearsay, you know - gossip- :) we will certainly avoid foolish contentions.
Let's be doers of the word and not hearers. We are called to peace, not strife.
May the Holy Spirit guide us as we strive to better ourselves everyday.
These reflections are written by my mom, then translated and edited by me. But, sometimes, God changes the whole thing. 😊
Thank you mom, for being such a dedicated servant of Christ, and for the example of faith you show us each and every day.
