Good morning, beloved of the Lord,
"One thing I have asked of the Lord, and I will seek it, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to learn in his temple."
Ps 27: 4
Lord, teach us to not only long for your presence, but also seek it like David did.
What can we gain by hoping and wanting to be in the presence of God without actually seeking to have a relationship with Him? Wishing alone accomplishes nothing. Building a lasting connection with the King requires spending time with Him. We bond by reading the Scriptures, meditating on what they teach us, and praying. Only then can our longing be fulfilled, thus allowing us to actually experience the presence of God. He wants to reveal Himself to us, and He will do so, when we invite Him.
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you" James 4:8
We all know that building long lasting friendships involve developing and maintaining relationship; therefore, let us draw near until we become friends with our Savior. Paul said in Philippians that everything in his life was rubbish compared to knowing Jesus. I am convinced that spending time with Christ was a priority to him. What a wonderful reward we will have if we take to action the longing to be in His presence.
May we take a step today in seeking this encounter by making the choice of spending time in the word daily, and by talking to Him in prayer, knowing that Jesus is already there waiting for us to show up.
God bless us!
These reflections are written by my mom, then translated and edited by me. But, sometimes, God changes the whole thing. 😊
Thank you mom, for being such a dedicated servant of Christ, and for the example of faith you show us each and every day.
