Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding so that I can learn Your commands. Psalms 119:73
God of love and kindness, we thank you for another day. May your truth penetrate us, transforming and enabling us to live a purposeful life. We are not here by chance. As David said: "Your hands have made us". We were wonderfully and fearfully made BY you and FOR you.
From the beginning, man chose to be independent, and to this day, we suffer the consequences. God will not stop us from having our free will and go our own ways, but the ramifications of this choice are heartrending. Everything that escapes it's purpose loses it's value and it can not work. Think of the clock. It was made to tell time. The compass was designed to show directions. They are both useless if broken, no longer serving their purpose.
We were made to honor and glorify God. When we do not fulfill this purpose, we are broken, and there remains in us an immense emptiness. It doesn't matter how much we try to fill it with love, traveling, shopping, addictions, pleasures, etc... At the end of all attempts at filling the void, we are still empty, because nothing outside of that purpose of giving Him praise could ever satisfy . Conversely, we become fulfilled, happy, and completely satisfied when our desire to please God is aligned with His greatest purpose for us.
No storm will shake us, no trial break us, and no sin can sway us.
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." Psalms 103:1-5
"everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." Isaiah 43:7
"For of him, and through him, and to him, [are] all things: to whom [be] glory for ever. Amen. Romans 11:36
We were made for so much more! Quench your thirst at God's fountain and be full. "Better is ONE day in His house than thousands elsewhere".
These reflections are written by my mom, then translated and edited by me. But, sometimes, God changes the whole thing. 😊
Thank you mom, for being such a dedicated servant of Christ, and for the example of faith you show us each and every day.
