"And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well." Luke 12:29-31
Lord, we give you thanks for the gift of another day. Thank you for your daily provision and protection.
Today, the Lord tells us that we should NOT worry or be afflicted about our daily necessities. Those who are anxious about these things do not know or trust God. When afflicted, they become unanchored and adrift, thus drowning in the sea of their circumstances. God reminds us through His word something that is increasingly forgotten among His people: He is not a man that He should lie, and His words will not pass away. How easily do we go astray and forget to pray. Many days we are too busy to read the Bible and spend time with our King. Days go by and we haven't meditated on the scriptures or even acknowledge Him. That is why we should remind ourselves, daily, that we should seek first the things related to the Kingdom of God and His justice, and subsequently, we will have our needs met - lacking nothing. We must stay on course, praising and trusting the provider of ALL our needs. When we are restless, He comes to quiet our souls and remind us of the promise He made to us: "All these things will be added to you (food, drink, clothes) if you seek first the kingdom of God"
"Prove and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who trusts in Him" Psalms 34:8
Today, let's make a commitment to Christ, to walk in His ways and seek Him with our whole heart! Let me know how I can pray for you. God bless you!
These reflections are written by my mom, then translated and edited by me. But, sometimes, God changes the whole thing. 😊
Thank you mom, for being such a dedicated servant of Christ, and for the example of faith you show us each and every day.
